Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut is a prequel set in the neon-soaked streets of 1988 Tokyo and Osaka, following Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima as they navigate parallel narratives of crime, betrayal, and the bubble-era yakuza underworld. The Director’s Cut adds never-before-seen cutscenes, full English dubbing, and the online Red Light Raid multiplayer mode for up to 60 players. On Nintendo Switch 2, it runs at a smooth 1080p and 60 fps in both gameplay and cutscenes.
— “From a technical standpoint, Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut is fine but nothing special. The game runs at 1080p and 60 fps, identical to the PlayStation 4 version. One advantage is that cutscenes also run at 60 fps, though the animations weren’t intended for such fidelity.”

— “Stunning story, voice acting, and narrative; exciting visuals, especially in cutscenes and combat; heart-pounding, vibrant soundtrack; and plentiful content to enjoy—though it offers few visual upgrades and the new Red Light Raid mode feels very dull for returning players. Score: 8/10.”

— “The nicest version of Yakuza 0 I’ve played so far. Docked and portable modes perform beautifully and look great; new story content, some multiplayer fun, and surprises along the way—easily the best traditional Yakuza game and perfect for newcomers.”
— Nintendo Life (9/10)
